Pros and cons of Monocle 24 app for iPhone and iPad

Monocle 24 app good for

I really love the Monocle 24 app as much as I like reading the magazine. But I am experiencing problems lately when trying to pause a show. Its always crashing when I try to hit the pause button. Other than that I love the look of the app and of course all the featured shows. :)
Love the app and the redesign in version 2 is very welcome. It also crashes less now and adds some useful functionality. I don’t understand though that with a complete redesign “from the ground up” like it is advertised, it’s still not optimised for the iPhone 6 screen.
Great way to access Monocle 24 on the move. Vast improvement over the old Monocle app, much easier to access both live and past shows. Organisation by show rather than the old time shift much improved.
Been following monocle for years and this is the perfect companion app. Love every program. One caveat as of yesterday 8/28/15 all episode downloads fail to download for myself and partner on separate devices. Something must be wrong with their server and there isnt a clear way to contacts monocle for support. Hopefully it gets fixed soon.
I love Monocle radio and the ability to listen to and catch up on episodes on the go and offline (once episodes are downloaded). I am having some difficulty with the current version: some episodes are showing as downloaded and then not playing while others wont download.
I had long prolonged listening to Monocle 24, but its digestible 30mins episodes make for great morning listens and the variety of topics they cover is pretty astounding. My only complaint is that they need to enable the earbuds pause button instead of through the phone. As well as when I pause an episode and do something else I cant pick up where I had left off like I can do with Apples Music app. I have to reload the episode and fast forward. Quite annoying, and hope they fix the issue soon. Otherwise I love it!

Some bad moments

I love everything about Monocle, and this app is a great addition, but the functionality leaves something to be desired. The app seems to need to restart after a few minutes paused and there is spotty support for different headphones - my Bose cant control play/pause. The auto download function also seems to have a mind of its own. I would give the content 100/100 but the app itself a much lower score. A few of the monocle podcasts are on stitcher so I listen to those on there instead
This app crashes on my iP6 every time I try to listen to a show.
Seriously Monocle? This is what you came up with? You cant even click on the timeshift tab without stopping the live stream. App looks basic and unimpressive.
Monocle is producing world class content on various subject, such as design. How did they manage such an unusable app? Streaming crashes every ten minutes, no matter the network (LTE, 3G, wifi), shows little integration with locked screen, hard time to handle incoming phone calls, basically all rudimentary aspect of using seems broken. It needs major fixes.
I love the Monocle content but with the new app Im stuck at the Tag Heuer advertisement screen with no way to swipe or click to close. Please fix so I can use this app again!
The app offers great contents and interesting podcasts, but when you try to listen live its a disaster. Every 4/5 minutes the app crashes. I hope they can fix it!
